The Great American Outdoor Show, in nearby Harrisburg, is a nine-day event held every February. It celebrates hunting, fishing, and outdoor traditions treasured by millions of Americans and their families.

The show features nearly 1,000 exhibitors, covering 650,000 square feet of exhibit hall space, ranging from shooting manufacturers to outfitters, fishing boats and RVs, and archery to art. A jam-packed schedule includes live music, speaking events, archery competitions, celebrity appearances, seminars, demos, and much more.

Great American Outdoor Show Seminars & Demos

You'll find more than 200 seminars from leading outdoors experts covering hunting, trapping, self-defense tactics and strategies, cooking with wild game, fishing tips from angling experts, and much more! Here, you can learn the tips and tricks of the trade from the best in the outdoor industry. Featured speakers in the past have included Hannah Barron, Jon Collins, Rod Bates, Earnie Watkins, Bobby Hart, Alan Probst, and more. 

Great American Outdoor Show Family Activities

If you have little ones, Eddie Eagle Kid's Zone has everything you might need to keep them entertained with engaging activities that embrace the outdoor lifestyle. Located in the Hunting Outfitter Hall, the Kid's Zone is free of charge and open every day of the show.  Activities include Wildlife Identification, arts and crafts, face painting, a basketball court, and more. The show also features a Kids' Trout Pond in the Fishing Hall and a Rock Climbing Wall in the Large Arena.

Show hours are:

  • Saturday, February 1: 9:00am - 7:00pm

  • Sunday, February 2:  10:00am - 5:00pm

  • Monday, February 3 - Friday, February 7: 10:00am - 7:00pm

  • Saturday, February 8: 9:00am - 7:00pm

  • Sunday, February 9: 10:00am - 5:00pm

Save time and purchase tickets in advance online. Options include one- or two-day tickets or late afternoon tickets, valid Monday through Thursday after 3 p.m. Children 5 and under are free.

Shuttles run continuously throughout the day. The last shuttle departs the complex 30 minutes after the show closes. Read more about additional parking information.

You'll find cafes in the Shooting Sports Hall, Fishing Hall, and Outfitter Hall. Individual food vendors are located throughout each hall and around the Large Arena. Then don't forget the PA Preferred Dining Hall on the 2nd floor, which has plenty of room to take a lengthy lunch and rest your feet.

Outdoor Adventure in Cumberland Valley

HuntingWhen you're in town for the Great American Outdoor Show, extend your stay and explore the outdoors in Cumberland Valley. During February, you can enjoy ice fishing, hunting, and snowmobiling at our nearby state game lands and parks. You can also explore the Appalachian Trail, a portion of which runs through Cumberland Valley and can be hiked throughout the year.

You can get all the supplies you need at the TCO Fly Shop in Boiling Springs, the Sportsman's Warehouse at the Capital City Mall in Camp Hill, and the REI Co-op in Mechanicsburg.

In nearby Carlisle, stop at Earth Artisan & Outfitter. In addition to goods and gear for the home, garden, and trail, this small shop specializes in earth-based and nature-inspired fine art and photography. 

After a day exploring the expansive Great American Outdoor Show, head to nearby restaurants, pubs, and breweries to relax for an evening of great food and drinks. Earn prizes along the Cumberland Valley Beer Trail when you sign up for the free passport and check in at participating locations.
